"I love my Blunami BLU-2200 decoder due to its versatility and ease of use. When using with the app, I can change sounds and program a locomotive anywhere on the fly without the need of a programming track or complicated CV mapping. I also love how I can run my models anywhere I wish, even DC layouts with no DCC setup to speak of. With 90 whistles included, it makes customization perfect to sui...

Walthers Proto GP-9 upgraded with a Tsunami2, TSU-21PNEM8 Decoder

"This is my Walthers Proto DCC-ready GP-9 that I installed a TSU-21PNEM8 EMD-2 (P.N. 885823) Diesel decoder and a single 28mm speaker (P.N. 810153). I also needed a specific wire harness to plug the speaker wire into the Walther circuit board. The installation was pretty straight forward and fit very well. I use a standard set of CVs for all my Tsunami2 installs: CV 114-31 changes the auto star...

Renaming Functions for Lighting Effects in the Blunami App (Android and Apple)
Beautiful 👍
This is too complicated 😪
I wish I had one of these
7:55 Good idea. Let's you perform easy battery maintenance or replaced if required.
if your track is powered with DC, will Blunami still support consisting?
As long as you have power to the decoder it will work - all features. Consisting is still in the works on the android app though.
I enjoy watching your videos for info but when you explain the purpose for the function you tend to understand it more 👍
If you need more help to understand anything, we are happy to help. Just reach out to our Support Team: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com
It is a shame many don't use the brake feature.People are still reluctant to adjust the CVs that enable these features.
Yes, that is part of the reason we developed Blunami. It takes away the fear of CVs. Also remember, if using CVs, you cannot break the decoder by changing CVs. You can always reset them if you mess up and we are here to help!
Hi George, we could get into the "Triple Valve"..but that's another story! Been using the F'11/12 brake feature for years and find it difficult to stop a train with the brakes! Cheers Gregg.
Adjust CVs 117 and 118 to a value of 150 or more. You need a value in CV4 as well.
Give our Support Team a call and they can help walk you through adjusting the CVs to get the desired effect: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com.
I really like this idea of the battery powered wireless system. I would need a large decoder to fit into my O Gauge Heljan Class 60 with the GE sounds as that one has twin motors. I am thankful that Blunami is now available on both Android and IOS so I am not restricted to one or the other :). All the best Peter.
Thanks for the feedback! If you need help selecting a decoder, just reach out to our Support Team: : (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com. They will be happy to help.
Very fine explanation!!! Thanks!!!
Glad it was helpful!
I just cannot do the Econami. I have to have Tsunami2 I like the reverb and digital dynamic exhaust, but I understand people that get it because it is a little cheaper.
We understand that these features are fun! But not everyone can afford to put Tsunami2 or Blunami in every engine. The great thing is Econami will work with our other decoders. So you can use Tsunami2 in your lead units and Econami in the trailing units and run smoothly!
@@SoundtraxxDCC actually never thought of that that’s a pretty good idea
Great Tip! Thank You!
You're welcome!

I'm going to order this decoder for my Riverossi Big boy it's DC now but converting it to DCC
Nice, if you need any advice contact our Support Team: (970)259-0690 ext. 22 or support@soundtraxx.com
Super helpful, George! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I like this technology I've been looking years to find this for Ho scale locomotive's n I like O gauge, O scale, S scale, n G scale n the big scales are worth investing DCC n Sound technology even for the ones you can ride on your own property everyday yes. I'm not a n or z scale fan those are to small to invest into
It all depends on your preference. We just hope everyone is enjoying the hobby!
Thanks for mentioning the Engine AutoStart Enable and Engine RPM Interlock. Is there a way to disconnect engine startup sequence from throttle? I only want to have startup sequence from the RPM + button. Sometimes I like to run silent (without engine noise, but I still like access to horn and bell, coupler, etc..) and the only way I have found thus far is Mute.

Momentum has been set on my decoder. Should I change the momentum back to "0", set the DDE, and reset the momentum to my previous value?
It is not necessary, but when you do the actual calibration, you want to be sure your model is running at the commanded speed step, or the mismatch could cause an erroneous read. So, we usually recommend this set to 0 so that your loco can not only be running at speed quickly, but also be stopped immediately following the calibration, but again, if space is not an issue, then it will not make much of a difference. Just make sure that you are running at SS20 or 30 when you calibrate and not still accelerating.
I prefer Tsunami 2 EMD 2. However, the Econami 21 pin decoder with the EMD prime movers is still one of the best decoders available.
Thanks for the feedback!
Ok- I did this multiple times and I followed the steps but it's still not working as intended... Am I missing a step or something?

I like the flashing LED on the crossing gates.
Thanks!
Very nice George B
Thanks!
Asking on behalf of a friend Question: What is gained by using the 21 pin vs. board? Is this for models that already have a 21pin connection?
The board format will vary based on the model. Yes, if the model has a 21 pin connector you will want the ECO-21PNEM. All of the features are the same, it is just the install that differs.
The Walthers GP9s are great units, I like hacking up the weight to put in cube speakers. The stock speaker placement doesn't have a great baffle, the rear prop shaft runs through it. A Tsunami 2 decoder is a nice upgrade for these units, especially the mainline units with the value decoder.
Thanks for the feedback!
Please show some tsunami 2 installs in some steam.
We have a few of these recorded already. Videos like this one are customer-submitted and we do not have control over what they submit. If you ever have any install questions, contact our Support Team for help: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com. They will be happy to help you!
1 month ago, I purchased a Walthers RS-3, could you tell me the size of the speaker wire connector you used ??? And where you got the connector from.
The connectors that Walthers uses on their main boards are 1mm JST connectors. Most are 2 pin connectors, but the head and tail end connectors are a 6 pin if my memory is correct.
@@ThoseFlags thank you, very much
Thanks for the reply!
How did you make the flashing crossing lights?

Soooooo nice!
Thank you!
Never purchased SOO anything 😂
:)
I bought an econamy decoder from Chile in January that has not yet arrived. I bought the same decoder on Ebay on June 15 and it arrived yesterday July 4°. Yours cost me US$195 shipping and taxes; the one from E Bay cost $156
Have you contacted us about this yet? Unfortunately, we do not control what happens once the decoder leaves our factory. Contact our Support Team for help: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com. They will be happy to help you figure this out!
Very fine!!!!!
Thank you.
not to pile on..... but until the android app can do consisting, I'm not buying any more.....upside, it is a great innovation in DCC decoders.
Bluerail is working on the android app and it should be updated soon. We too are eagerly awaiting this update. Current decoders will work with the new app when it is available.
Well, THATs hands down, COOL GEORGE! Well done, friend, WELL DONE! I'M Inspired. 😊
Thanks my friend! Appreciate the kind words!
Thanks for the great feedback, we are happy that you are inspired!
Beautiful modeling
Thank you!
Thank you!
When I’ve got brick and mortar sites selling them for 35% off why would I go to your website and have to pay the 10% sales tax to get 15% off. when I can go to another website and save 35%…………. 😂
We intentionally do not compete with the retailer on price. This is one of the many ways that we support brick-and-mortar stores. But, not everyone has a retailer and that is why we offer sales on our website.
I would love to fit DCC to my RS-2, but mine is Atlas N scale.
We do have a variety of N Scale boards. Contact our Support Team for help choosing one: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com. They will be happy to help you figure this out!
My Concern is how do you wire your actual decoder? Do you just wire it to the connector?
Yes. Contact our Support Team for more information: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com. They will be happy to help you figure this out!
Would be nice to see the actual installation.
This is customer-submitted. They sent photos that can be found on our Facebook page, but we cannot control what information is shared with us. If you need help with an install, contact our Support Team for help: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com.
Soundtraxx are sensational decoders
Thank you!
Thank George For All Your Help With My Issue We Talked About On The Phone! George Is A Great Guy! 😁
Thanks for the feedback. We are always happy to help!
The problem is that you can't add a current keeper!. And should have been upgraded a long time ago!. I tried to add one as per georges e- mail pics, only to wreck the board on the decoder!. Many of us need this option for smaller locos like 4 wheelers which translates to not enough wheel pickups and constant power to the decoder. So when is SoundTraxx going to make one and keep up with it's competitors that have had current keeper capaibility for many years???
You can, but the motor decoders were not designed for the CurrentKeeper to be plugged in. We can assist you, but this also depends on your soldering skills. (For training on soldering, see webinar 8) If/when we redesign the motor decoders, they will incorporate the CK plug, but this has not been in any discussions as of now. They are selling well and we are not having issues getting parts for them.
Please consider producing a 21 pin mobile decoder with 8 functions. 4 functions isn't enough for modern models.
Thanks for the feedback. We do have up to 8 functions on Tsunami2 and Blunami, but we will keep this in mind.
Would you have to add the vales up for cv 112?
CV 112 has a few things it determines for the sounds in the decoder and how they play back. Each bit is assigned to a factor, and the total of the bits will determine the final value. So refer to the User’s Guide for detailed information on what bits to enable/disable so your decoder can perform the way you desire!
Awesome video Bluenami is the best thing for G scale thanks!
You bet! We are glad that you are enjoying Blunami.
@@SoundtraxxDCC Loving it!
I would have replaced the 12v bulbs with LEDs to increase the efficiency and run time of the locomotive.
That is not a bad idea.
Theres another install of mine!
Great work, as usual!
GG👀~, Another great video install GG, looks like you guys had a few laughs while filming this install.😀 Awesome brother!👍 Thanx Thom...
It was a good time.
Thank you great video. Do you have to worry about heat with the 4408? I would think that it will get quite hot in Southern California sun. Would you recommend a fan someplace? Glad you did another large scale and battery install.
Our decoders are tested at extreme temperatures to take climate into account so you should not have to add a fan. You can discuss this further with our Support Team: 9970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com. Thanks for reaching out!
